Lila Bean Payne

Mrs. Lila Marie Bean Payne, 85, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Star. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Payne was born June 27, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Jesse H. Bean and Mary Ann Elizabeth Della Richardson Bean. She retired from Acme McCrary after 47 years and she attended Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Barnett Payne; daughter, Mary Ann Payne; and brothers, Lewis Bean and Lindbergh Bean. Mrs. Payne is survived by daughter, Cynthia Cagle, and husband, Phillip, of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Matt Cagle, Cody Cagle; sister, Lois Ayers, of Asheboro, NC; sister-in-law, Gracie Bean; special nieces and nephews, Greg Barnes, Delbert Ayers, Charles Ayers, and wife, Monette, Bernice Laughlin, and husband, James, Malinda Jennings, and husband, Tim and several great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
