Lera Mae Freeman Flowers, 86, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, NC. Officiating will be Dr. Richard Crider. A native of Montgomery County, NC, Mrs. Flowers was born March 9, 1928, the daughter of the late Lacy and Eula Needham Freeman. She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church and was retired from Union Carbide / Energizer after 42 years of service. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and working outdoors. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Flowers; brothers, Vestal Freeman, James Freeman, Willis Freeman, Jake Freeman, Cecil Freeman; sisters, Lois Blake, Mary Presnell, Colette Skeen; grandson, Ryan Coble; and great granddaughter, Rebekah Eckstein. Survivors include her daughter, Sondra Coble, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Beth Eckstein, Alison Coble, Renee Coble; great-grandchildren, Amber Coble, Anthony Duncan, Kristopher Duncan, Caleb Eckstein, Andi Eckstein, Hannah Schwartz, Alex Eckstein, Elijah Eckstein, Luke Eckstein, Molly Eckstein, Ashley Eckstein; great-great-grandchildren, James Duncan, Landon Duncan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
