Mr. Robert Leonard Loflin, 85, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Moses H. Cone Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, August 1, 2014, at Foster Street Wesleyan Church with Rev. Charles Moses, Rev. Bob Freeman and Rev. Danny LeRoy officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Denton. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Loflin was born August 28, 1928. He was the son of the late David Loflin and Ethel Smith Loflin. He graduated with the class of 1947 from Farmer High School. He was a member of the Randolph Lifestock and Poultry Improvement Association. Mr. Loflin attended Foster Street Wesleyan Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry Loflin and Clifford Loflin. Mr. Loflin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Staley Loflin; daughter, Becky Loflin, of Asheboro, NC; step-daughter, Nancy Stover and husband, Robert, of Asheboro, NC; son, Jerry Loflin, of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Allene McDowell and Cleo Munn, both of Asheboro, NC; two step- grandchildren, Rob and Sherri; three step-great grandchildren, Haley, Landon and Lincon. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
