Leon Moore

Earl Leon Moore, 83, of Asheboro, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Seagrove with Rev. Jim Petty officiating. Burial will follow at Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery. Born September 4, 1934 in Randolph County, Mr. Moore was the son of the late Jesse Earl Moore and Rena Harper Moore. He was a charter member and member of the choir at First Baptist Church of Seagrove. Mr. Moore was self employed HVAC installer and service technician. He took great pride in his work. He was known for his great sense of humor and enjoyed visiting his friends in nursing homes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his son, Michael Moore; and brother, Ronal Moore. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Greene Moore of the home; daughter, Kathy Ann Moore of Asheboro; sister, Wilma Fiste of Newport; brothers, Jerry Moore of Newport, Gary Moore and wife, Lucy of Seagrove; and grandchildren, Jeremy David Moore, Travis Michael Moore and Emily Ann Oakes, all of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
