Leo Cranford

Leo Franklin Cranford, 81, of Asheboro, died Monday, June 5, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Barrett and Rev. William Fields officiating. Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born August 30, 1935 in Randolph County, Mr. Cranford was the son of the late Zell and Lydia Cranford. He worked for General Electric/Black & Decker for 36 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cranford was preceded in death by his brothers, Edgar and Earl Cranford; and his sisters, Grayfawn Allen and Josie Johnson. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Yow Cranford of the home; daughters, Rhonda Maness (Tim) and Sandra Leonard (Craig), all of Asheboro; son, Jackie Leo Cranford (Bobbie) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Chris Maness (Stephanie), Candace Pes (Carlo), Heather Hogan (Greg), Angela Cranford (Mooky Black), Steven Leonard (Brittany Simmons), Brittany Robinson (Calvin), Travis Cranford (Angie Clark), Ashley Auman (Matthew), Nathan Leonard; and 21 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
