Lena G. Kearns

Mrs. Lena Ruth Gordon Kearns, 87, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Carillon Assisted Living. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Kearns was born May 8, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Lee Gordon and Lillie Mae Hicks Gordon. She was a homemaker and loved gardening and singing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Kearns. Mrs. Kearns is survived by her daughters, Brenda Kearns Brigman, of Asheboro, NC, Linda Kearns Richardson, of Savannah, GA; son, Lindley Charles Kearns and wife, Brenda, of Asheboro, NC; sister, Evelyn Lambeth, of Thomasville, NC; brother, Carl Gordon, of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren, Lynn Brigman, Eddie Brigman, Mitchell Brigman, Brenda Wall, Veronica Craven, Tonya Reyes, Paul Brigman, Doug Brigman, Dean Cox, Stephanie Witzens, Lura Booth, Sabrina Simmons; step grandchildren, Donna Mason, Tammy Swaney, Terry Richardson, Harold Richardson, Jr., Kevin Richardson; 28 great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home.
