Lela Mae Carter

Mrs. Lela Mae Moody Carter, 93, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, January 6, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Reaves officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Carter was born October 31, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Charles Nathan Moody and Esther Rosetta Walker Moody. She was a member of Balfour Baptist Church and was the church secretary for 50 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Carter, Sr.; sisters, Hazel Rich Gamble, Mary Cooper; and brothers, Everette Moody and Charles Moody, Jr. Mrs. Carter is survived by son, Bill Carter, of Asheboro; sister, Virginia Cole, of Asheboro; grandchild, Kim Carter, of Seagrove, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Monday, January 6, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home.
