Lee Ward

Mr. Walter Lee Ward, Jr., 56, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at his home. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Brower's Chapel United Methodist Church, Asheboro, NC, with Rev. David Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Ward was born July 3, 1958. Mr. Ward graduated from Asheboro High School in 1976, had attended UNC-Wilmington and was a graduate of Northwood College in Cedar Hill, TX. Lee was an automobile salesman for years and was currently employed by VET International Corp. textile manufacturing as their U.S. representative. His love of golf was well known in the community. He helped organize the City Amateur Tournament and the Annual Steve Welch Charity Tournament. He also loved his God and his cats. Mr. Ward is survived by his companion, Dianna Casper, of the home; parents, Walter and Earlene Ward, of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Wendy Heafner and husband, William, Leesa Rush and husband, Chuck, all of Asheboro, NC; brother, Evans Vestal Ward, of Los Angeles, CA; nephews, Lee Miller and wife, Jennifer, Westly Miller, Lane Miller, Brad Rush and wife, Jessica, Ryne Rush; niece, Brynn Rush; extended family, Jack Casper, of Asheboro, NC, John and Monica Casper, Anthony Casper, Lindsay Casper, all of Charlotte, NC, Steve and Carol Casper Bourke, Wesley Bourke, all of Asheville, NC, Bill Bourke, Monica Bourke, Seth Bourke, Madison Bourke, Lacy Bourke, Jeff and Christy Bourke Ross, all of Mooresville, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, October 17, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of his parents, 1570 Westmont Drive, Asheboro, NC.
