Lee Sheffield

Mr. Lee Wesley Sheffield, 84, of Glade Road, Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, November 16, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Dale Cox and Bishop Gary Cecil officiating. A native of Moore County, NC, Mr. Sheffield was born October 6, 1928. Mr. Sheffield was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wesley Sheffield and Claudia Lola Cashwell Sheffield; his stepfather, Elden L. McLeod; and his son, Jimmy Wade Sheffield. Mr. Sheffield is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Sarah Louise Saunders Sheffield, of 65 years as of November 8; four sons, Lee Harris Sheffield and wife, Marsha (Elaine) Williams Sheffield, of Reidsville, NC, David Lee Sheffield and wife, Sheila Daniels Sheffield, Bill Ray Sheffield, all of Asheboro, NC, Christopher Todd Sheffield, of Corpus Christi, TX; five grandchildren, Christopher Lee Sheffield and wife, Lisa Kay Meador Sheffield, Daniel Wayne Sheffield and wife, Inga Rose Medley Sheffield, Summer Elaine Howard and husband Neil Anthony Howard, all of Reidsville, NC, Sonia Louise Sheffield, of Greensboro, NC, Dulcinea Jennie Sheffield Sweeney and husband Donald Gary Sweeney, of Asheboro; six great grandchildren, Kaylee Danielle Sheffield, Ashlynn Carroll Sheffield, Seth Nicholas Sheffield, Emilyrose Carroll Sheffield, all of Reidsville, NC, Aaron Lee Sheffield and Barrett Gary Sweeney, both of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm Friday, November 16, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. The family would like to thank the Randolph Hospital ICU nurses, RN Michelle and RN Gina for their care for Mr. Sheffield.
