Lee Roy Thompson

Charlie Lee Roy Thompson, 84, of Asheboro, died Friday, April 13, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Huttleston officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born May 8, 1933 in Montgomery County, Mr. Thompson was the son of the late Willie and Stacy Thompson. He was retired from Hughes Furniture. Mr. Thompson was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, assistant Sunday school superintendent and was a member of the nominating committee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Ann Sprouse Thompson. Survivors include his daughters, Sharon T. Wood of Asheboro, Teresa T. Thompson of Morganton; sons, Michael Thompson and wife, Kristy of Randleman, Ronnie Thompson of Asheboro, Tony Thompson and wife, Doris of Seagrove; sisters, Katherine T. McIntyre of Raleigh, Jolly T. Dunn of Star; brothers, Bobby J. Thompson of Louisville, KY, Perry Thompson and Dewey Thompson, both of Troy; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
