Larry "Boobie" Duboyce Goldston, 48, of Ramseur, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at his home.
A funeral service will be conducted on 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023,at Covenant Christian Church with Rev. Samuel A. Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland-McCrary Cemetery.
Larry was born on August 13, 1974 in Randolph County. He was a highly decorated and passionate firefighter engineer for the Greensboro Fire Department for 15 years and a local 947 Union member. Larry was an active member in McCrary UMC as an usher and sang in the choir for "Men of Faith". He was also a part of the nominating committee for his church. Larry loved sports and was a talented baseball and football player. He was Randolph County football player of the year and offensive player of the year for Asheboro High School in 1991. He played baseball when he attended NC A&T, and played football and baseball when he attended WCU. He received an Associates Degree in Fire Protection Technology and Fire Protection Administration at Davidson Davie Community College. Larry was a dedicated Washington Redskins fan. Larry was a great cook and loved grilling out for his family and for fellow churchgoers. He was a family man who loved spending time with them. Larry enjoyed playing golf, riding his motorcycle and watching his daughter, Annissa, excel in various sports. He was always willing to listen and always looked out for others. Larry would even volunteer for career days for fire safety, and was a part owner of Goldston's Concrete & Septic Tank. He was also known to be a part time cowboy.
Mr. Goldston is survived by his wife, Felisha Goldston of the home; daughter, Annissa Claire Goldston; parents, Larry Lee Goldston and Brenda Ewing Goldston of Ramseur; brother, Ashley Jerrod Goldston (Monica) of Ramseur; sister, Sonya L. Goldston of Ramseur; aunts and uncles, Eldora Allen (Jerry), Gwendolin Richardson (Will), Jackie E. Biggs (Walter), Hurley E. Ewing (Annie), Benjamin Ewing (Carolyn), Ida Neal, Earl Street, William P. Shoffner (Shirlene), Carnell Goldston (Estelle); mother-in-law "Mom", Clara Little; sisters-in-law "Sisters", Sonya Mebane, Valerie Little, Carmen Daniels; brothers-in-law "Brothers", James Little, Leon Little, Tony Little, Terry Little, Dana Daniels; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mickey Burgess, Johnny Ellison, Alex Gary, Chris Davis, Martin Barrow, Sherrone Shoffner, and Shawn Randleman.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2023. at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
