Larry Wayne Dickens, 78, of Asheboro, died Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Tommy Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born in Randolph County, NC, on September 13, 1940, Larry was the son of the late John Ethan Dickens and Mary Lucilla Sparks Dickens. He was a retired from the U.S. Post Office, served in the U.S. Marine Corp, and loved his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Brenda Hopkins Dickens of the home; sons, Jeff Dickens of Randleman, Mike Dickens and wife Melissa, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Samantha Dickens, Lucas Dickens, Ethan Dickens. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, and other times at the home.
