He was at his best playing Jazz, but could play classical, bluegrass, pop standards, and any genre or form of music requested. He had a God given talent and loved performing. Larry had played professional baseball for the Washington Senators and the Chicago Cubs, and had served in the US National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Diann Mayberry Davis; son, Chester Lamar "Chet" Davis and wife, Leslie Addison Davis; brother, James Edward "Ed" Davis and wife, Barbara Davis; grandson, Spencer Glenn Davis; and sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many other close family and friends. The family wishes to express our thanks and gratitude to Hospice of Randolph for their love and service to him and our community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Asheboro Public Library Foundation, P.O.
