Larry Edward Cannon

Mr. Larry Edward Cannon, 60, of Denton, NC, died Friday, February 4, 2011, at the Randolph Hospice House. A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Lane officiating. A native of Mitchell County, NC, Mr. Cannon was born December 26, 1950. He was employed with Sara Lee and was a dedicated worker. He loved to camp and his favorite scripture was The Lord's Prayer. Mr. Cannon was a loving father, son and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, James Charles Cannon and his brother, David Wayne Cannon. Surviving are his fiancée, Betty Derr, Asheboro; daughter, Latisha Cannon and fiancé, Steve Dirhold, of Marion; son, Charles Cannon and wife, Lori, of Asheboro; mother, Clara Sparks and husband, Lee, of Spruce Pine; grandchildren, Kayla Cannon, Malia Cannon, Stephen Dirhold; stepsister, Sylvia Dellinger, of Spruce Pine; stepbrothers, Kenny Sparks, Donald Dale, Randy Dale, all of Spruce Pine; and nephew, James Cannon, of Georgia. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Charles and Lori Cannon.
