Lacy Ernest Kennedy

Mr. Lacy Ernest Kennedy, 85, of Seagrove, NC, died Monday, June 20, 2011, at Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, June 24, 2011, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Kennedy was born January 12, 1926. He was the son of the late Artemus Kennedy and Elizabeth Boone Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was retired from Kennedy Sawmill and K & K Auto Sales. He attended Whynot Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther S. Kennedy, daughter, Vickie Susan Kennedy, five sisters, two brothers, and one grandchild. Mr. Kennedy is survived by his children, Donald Kennedy, of Asheboro, Bronna Hoover, of Asheboro, Lacy Kennedy, Jr., of Lexington, Frankie Birt, of Santee, SC, Rhonda McLeod, of Blackville, SC, Wayne Birt, of Olar, SC; brother, Colin Kennedy, of Franklinville; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bronna Hoover, 445 Northampton Dr., Asheboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Randolph, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
