Kevin Fields

Kevin Blaine Fields, 61, of Seagrove, went home to his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kevin was born on December 7, 1964, in Norton, Virginia. He worked for many years at Hills Spinning and as a farmhand in Abington, Virginia. Kevin enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He cherished time with his family and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including playing bingo and cards and working word-search puzzles.

Kevin was a simple man who appreciated the little things that made life special—a warm, sunny day, a home-cooked meal prepared by his sister, Liz, a trip to town with his sister, Della, a game of bingo with his brother, Darrell, or a daily phone call from his sister, Susie. He also enjoyed riding around the county, always keeping an eye out for deer. More than anything, Kevin treasured the time he spent with his family, and those simple moments will be remembered and cherished by all who loved him.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson and Esther Fields; brothers, James Fields, David Wayne "Buddy" Fields, and Jerry Lee Fields.

Surviving are his sisters, Susie Barton (Wayne) of Linwood, NC, Della Fields of Thomasville, NC, Liz Hayes (Vernon) of Seagrove, NC; brother, Darrell Fields of Thomasville, NC; daughter, Ashley Fields of Lexington, NC; cherished dog of 15 years, Little Bit; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his family, Kevin dearly loved his family in West Virginia and his friends in Abington, Virginia, who became his family.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Cone Health Cancer Center at MedCenter Asheboro, formerly the Randolph Cancer Center, for their compassionate care during his treatments over the past several months and to Wesley Long Hospital for the care given to Kevin in his last moments.
