Kerry Thomas Petty

Mr. Kerry Thomas Petty, 50, of Sophia, NC, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at his home. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church with Dr. Brent Tysinger officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Petty was born June 4, 1964. He was the owner and operator of a trucking company. Kerry enjoyed hiking and being outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Hancock and his brother, Billy Petty. Mr. Petty is survived by his wife, France Petty, of the home; daughters, Chelsea Petty, of the home, and her boyfriend, Randy Williams, of Asheboro; Nicole Redding and husband, Chris, of Sophia, NC; son, Jimmy Stewart, of Sophia, NC; parents, Phyllis and Bill Petty, of Randleman; stepfather, Jimmy Wilkerson; brother, Michael Branson and wife, Belinda, of Lincolnton, NC; granddaughter, Madelyn Redding; and nieces, Alanna, McKenzie, Izzy and Jada.
