Kay Ward

Ms. Nancy Kay Ward, 56, formerly of 511 E. Brown Street, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, September 24, 2010, at Canaan United Methodist Church with the Rev. J.C. Miles and the Rev. Tammy Talbert officiating. A native of Davidson County, NC, Miss Ward was born May 10, 1954. She was the daughter of the late John Hayden Ward and Nancy Mae Robbins Ward. She was an avid reader and loved the lake and beach. She would send you a card for any and all occasions. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her infant son, Ryan Neal Gordon, and her brother, Ronnie Lee Ward. Miss Ward is survived by her daughter, Ashley Nicole Ellis, of Snow Camp, NC, and her sister, Tanna Ward Powers and husband, Doyle of Bennett, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Tanna and Doyle Powers, 320 Bernard Purvis Road, Bennett, NC.
