Kathy Elaine Campbell Smith, 55, of Asheboro, died Sunday, September 23, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. A native of Yadkin Co., NC, Mrs. Smith was born October 20, 1962, the daughter of the late Vance Lee and Mary Bates Campbell. She was a graduate of Randleman High School and had retired from Randolph Hospital as a CNA. In retirement, she found joy in being a seamstress, loving to knit and crochet. She also enjoyed canning and cooking. She could make anything you would want and loved making items or baked goods for her family and friends. She had a joyful personality and enjoyed dancing, square dancing and flat footing. Kathy adored her grand kids, always playing with them, keeping them active, and spoiling them. Kathy was a contagiously outgoing person who never met a stranger. She felt compelled to help and take care of anyone she met. She is survived by her husband, Malcolm Smith, of the home; daughter, Sherri Jagade and husband, Kurt, of Rock Hill, SC; son, Roy Cunningham and Amy Lawson, of Randleman; step children, David Smith and wife, Julie, Amy Sykes and husband, Mitchell; sisters, Linda Campbell, of Florida, Phyllis Lucas and husband, Don, of Asheboro, Tammy Campbell, of Greenville, NC, Karen Summerford and husband, Emmett, of Asheboro, Bonita Lewis, of Thomasville; brother, Michael Campbell and wife, Cathy, of Ramseur; grandchildren Noah Taylor, Ovie Taylor, Anthony Jagade, Lilly Jagade, Brayden Cunningham, Addison Cunningham, Jenny Smith, Kelsey Smith; and several nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 1, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Roy Cunningham, 214 Holder Street, Randleman, NC.
