Katherine Hardin Poole

Mrs. Katherine Grey Hardin Poole, 78, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Randolph Memorial Park with Gwen Hardin-Foster officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Poole was born December 8, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Walter Kenneth Hardin and Ethel Grey Vickory Hardin. She was retired from Acme-McCrary Corp. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her brother, Conrad Hardin of Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Poole is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Hinton Poole, of the home; and their four beautiful children, son, Mark Poole and wife, Janet, of Asheboro, NC; daughters, Kathi Jo Poole, of Greenville, NC, Jan Ellen Lewis and husband, Marty, Melaine Underwood and husband, Eddie, all of Asheboro, NC; and grandchildren, Taylor Underwood, Nichole Lusk and husband, Andy, Melissa Lewis, Haley Poole, all of Asheboro, NC; and was recently blessed with a great grandson, Levi Lusk. She is also survived by her brothers, Larry Hardin and wife, Nancy, Randy Hardin, all of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Betty Jo Cagle and husband, Hal, Janet Yates, Ann H. Brown, all of Asheboro, NC, Gwen Hardin-Foster and husband, Bill, of Ruffin, NC; many nieces and nephews and her canine companions, Bandit and Missy. The family will receive friends following the service at AVS Banquet Centre, 2045 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC, for a celebration of Katherine's life.
