Katherine Begley

Katherine Margaret Barthelmes Begley, 99, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018, at East Side Baptist Church with Pastor Troy Carter officiating. Born August 12, 1918 in Manhattan, NY, Mrs. Begley was the daughter of the late Leonard and Elizabeth Barthelmes. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church and was retired from Mendocino State Hospital in Ukiah, CA. Mrs. Begley enjoyed crocheting, gardening and kitty cats. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Grant Begley; son, Brian Mars; and granddaughter, Kellee Rhoades. Survivors include her daughters, Karen Rhoades, Celeste Atkinson, Paulette Kincaid; son, Richard Mars and wife, Joan; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday at East Side Baptist Church, prior to the service.
