Junior Ben Brown, also known by JB, 82, of Ramseur, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Montez Allen and Rev. Samuel Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. The family kindly requests for people who attend to please wear a mask. Mr. Brown was born on June 23, 1939, in Randolph County. He retired from Eveready as an electrician. Mr. Brown was a member of McCrary UMC where he was a singer of the Men of Faith Choir and served on both Trustee and Finance committees. He loved to play pool, and mow lawns in his spare time. He was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge Oakland #501 P.H.A where he served faithfully for over 50 years Mr. Brown was an avid fan of the Washington Football team and the UNC Tarheels. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend. Mr Brown was generous to toward others and gave unselfishly of his time in service to those in need. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his mother, Katie Mae Brown; sister, Marzella Brown; brothers, Bill Brown, Clifford Brown. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cynthia Butler Brown of the home; sons, Cedric Brown of Ramseur, Damon Brown of Staley; daughter, Monica Brown Goldston and husband Rod of Ramseur; sister, Faye Mason of Ramseur; brothers, Harvey Brown of Ramseur, and Fred Brown of Maryland; grandchildren, Andrekes Brown, Shaunte Brown, Callie Everett, Jacob Goldston; four great grandchildren; a special nephew, Dwight “Eddie” Isley; and special friend Ernell Watson. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.
