Mrs. Julia Vaughn Corbett Allen, 85, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Montgomery County, NC, Mrs. Allen was born October 21, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Roscoe Hartwell Corbett and Mattie Hurley Corbett. She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church and a longtime employee Acme McCrary. She was most known for her quick wit and bountiful delicious meals. Her life revolved around her family and preserving J.D.'s crops of vegetables and fruits. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her brothers, Sherrill Corbertt, Otis Corbett, Bernard Corbett, Jack Corbett, Max Corbett; sisters, Josephine Smith, Margie Maness, and Flora Mae Holdsclaw. Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, J.D. Allen, of the home; sons and their wives, Doyle C. Allen and Dianne, of Huntersville, NC, Terry W. Allen and Debbie, of Greenville, NC, and Van R. Allen and Debbie, of Canton, NC; grandchildren, Natalie Allen Demby, Cara Allen Long, John Allen, Kellie Allen Brown, Devan Allen Williams, and Shanna Allen; great grandchildren, Carter Demby, Everett Demby, Dayla Brown, Bailey Brown, Banks Demby, Reagan Brown, Kendall Williams and Cameron Long. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home.
