On Friday, September 20th, Judy Cox, loving wife and mother, passed away from cancer at the age of 72. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2019, at Holly Spring Friends Meeting, Ramseur, with Pastor Todd Brown and Pastor Garry Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home in Asheboro. She was born in Asheboro, NC on February 10, 1947 to DC and Thelma Poole. On August 1, 1965 she married Gary Lawrence Cox with whom she recently celebrated 54 years of marriage. They raised a daughter, Jennifer Schwarz (Todd), and two sons, Kevin Cox (Melissa), and Jody Cox (Lindsay). They have seven grandchildren: Eli Schwarz, Isaac Schwarz, Ariella Schwarz, Cameron Cox, Christian Cox, Jordan McClendon, and Chelsea Kennedy. She has one sister, Patsy Skeen (Wayne) and several brother and sisters-in-law as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. Judy worked at Black & Decker for many years before becoming co-owner of Cox Precision Spring, which manufactures beryllium copper springs for electrical applications. Judy had a passion for gardening, crafting, and giving. She shared the seeds, cuttings, and rootings of her many plants with family and friends. She created "flower pot people" which now brighten up porches and gardens throughout Randolph County. She loved going to the beach and soaking up the sun. She shopped all year for the perfect Christmas gifts. When Christmas finally came, she was unable to contain her excitement with food, surprise gifts, and silly games. Because of her giving nature, she would always say "yes", even when she didn't feel good. Her strong faith, compassionate character, and playful spirit made her someone that people wanted to be around. She was and will remain a blessing to all of us. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
