Joyce Saunders

Mrs. Joyce Ann Reeder Saunders, 66, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at her residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, July 9, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Casual attire is welcomed. Burial will follow at Flag Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Montgomery County, Mrs. Saunders was born February 2, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Seagrove Reeder and Hattie Jane Phillips Reeder. She was a homemaker, enjoyed shopping, spending time with friends and family, walking, and loved animals. She was preceded in death by her beloved companion, Marvin Thomas; sister, Janelle Carlton; and brother, William Thomas Reeder. Mrs. Saunders is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hales, and husband Tom, of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Elizabeth Reeder, of Asheboro, NC, Minerva Cagle, and husband, Jonah, of Asheboro, NC; nieces, Betty Boone, of Seagrove, NC, Mae Silverthorne, and husband Tony, of Seagrove, NC, Doris Cagle, of Winston-Salem, NC; and nephew, Richard Strider, of Seagrove, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Randolph, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
