Joyce Mcpherson

Carolyn Joyce McPherson, 77, of Archdale, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at Rushwood Church with Dr. Brent Tysinger officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born June 7, 1939 in Alamance County, Mrs. McPherson was the daughter of the late John and Christine Richardson. She attended Rushwood Church. Mrs. McPherson was employed for multiple years at Laughlin's Hosiery Mill in Randleman and Wagner Furniture in Archdale. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid collector of specialty items. Mrs. McPherson was very compassionate toward animals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Monty McPherson. Mrs. McPherson is survived by her husband, Vernie McPherson of the home; daughter, Annette Crotts and husband, Greg of Sophia; brothers, Harold C. Richardson of Randleman, Ronald D. Richardson of Asheboro, Bobby R. Richardson of Maine; granddaughter, Farron Kendrick and husband, Jason of Sophia; and great-granddaughter, Tori Kendrick. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church, prior to the service.
