Joyce Cagle Mcdowell

Joyce Nancy Cagle McDowell, 69, of Asheboro, died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Varner officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Born in Randolph County, NC on December 17, 1946, Joyce was the daughter of the late Paul and Willa Dean Cagle. She was retired from Randolph Animal Hospital after 37 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Nathan Cagle. Surviving are her daughter, Sherry Johnson (David), of Randleman; sister, Geraldean Varner, of Asheboro; sister-in-law, Bonnie Cagle, of Ramseur; grandchildren, Charity Shore (Chris), Stacey Akins (Marshall); great grandchildren, Owen Shore, Jayden Akins; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
