Joyce Thompson Conner

Janet Joyce Thompson Conner, 83, of Asheboro, died Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Pastor Brian Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at West Bend United Methodist Church Cemetery. Joyce was born in Randolph County, NC, on March 12, 1936, the daughter of the late George Thompson and Maggie Victoria Hall Thompson. She was retired from Bossong Hosiery, loved plants, flowers, and reading. Her love for her family was known not only to her immediate family but also to her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Conner; sisters, Essie Robbins, Johnsie Williams; and brother, Bill Thompson. Survivors included daughter, Vickie Burgess and husband Rodney of Asheboro, and granddaughter, Makayla Burgess and her fiancé Christopher Boles. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2019, and other times at the home of her daughter.
