Joyce C. Chriscoe

Mrs. Joyce Comer Chriscoe, of 1636 Chriscoe Road, Seagrove, passed peacefully in her sleep at her home on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 18, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home in Asheboro with Charles T. Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A lifelong native of Moore County, NC, Mrs. Chriscoe was born March 5, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Boyd and Thelma Comer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Chriscoe. Joyce is survived by her beloved only child, Danny R. Chriscoe, and his fiancée, Angie D. Joyce, both of Seagrove, and numerous cousins and dear friends. Joyce was known for always having a smile on her face and had her own unique way to make everyone around her laugh. She had a special love for animals, especially all of her K-9 companions who surrounded her throughout the years. She loved to be outside, loved flowers, hummingbirds, the color pink and especially the sound of her son and his friends riding Harley motorcycles. Her motto was "Life is Short"�REV IT UP!!"� The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorial contributions may me made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research, Duke Medical Center, P.O. Box 3069, Durham, NC 27710. The family would like to thank the special caregivers who allowed her to remain at home throughout the extent of her life"�These include: Chassity Worcester, Michelle Worcester, Gary Deaton, Anne Marie Musselwhite, and Sylvia Morgan. With their loving care and dedication, Joyce was able to remain at her home, as she wished. Joyce will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Joyce's life seems way too short to those left behind who will miss her dearly, but those who were touched by her understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one spends here on Earth.
