Joy B. Patterson

Mrs. Joy Siler Brown Patterson, 86, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gregory Arnold officiating. Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Patterson was born October 5, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Isaac Milliard Brown and Lee Estelle Siler Brown. She was a graduate of Coleridge High School, class of 1942. She was a long time employee of Nantucket Hosiery and then retired from Acme-McCrary Corp. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her sister, Lou Elma Kidd. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her husband, Hugh "H.C."� Patterson, Jr., of the home; daughter, Dianna Kennedy, of Greensboro, NC; sister, Charlene Welch, of Coleridge, NC; granddaughters, Lisa Allred, Karen Arnold, Julie Bittle; eight great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a host of special friends and class mates of Coleridge School, and her dog, Cody. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Randolph, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Home Health Service and the ICU Department of Randolph Hospital for their special care.
