Mrs. Josie Caroline Louise Williams Evans, 93, of Asheboro, died Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, October 3, 2010, at Holly's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Mark Ainsworth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Orange County, NC, Mrs. Evans was born November 1, 1916. She was the daughter of the late James Robert Williams and Julia Caroline Floyd Williams. She was a charter member of Asheboro Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was an active member of Holly's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she taught Sunday school. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley W. Evans, her sisters, Jessie Hunt, Maggie Varner, Ellen Atkinson, Lois Taylor, Ruth LaRosa; her brothers, Robert Williams, Jr., J. D. Williams, Samuel Williams; half brother, Charles Williams; half sisters, Sally Younts and Minnie Younts. Surviving are her daughters, Barb Evans, of Germantown, TN, Cheryl Perkins and husband, Frankie Perkins, Jr., of Asheboro, sister, Dorothy Legans, of High Point, and grandchildren, Derek Perkins, of Archdale, and Sarah Perkins, of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home.
