Joseph Russell Dunlap

Mr. Joseph Russell Dunlap, 67, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at New Hope Memorial Gardens with Dr. Ron Chaney officiating. A native of Moore County, NC, Mr. Dunlap was born December 24, 1943. He was the son of the late Joseph Daniel Dunlap and Ivey Garner Dunlap. He was retired from Ramtex and was a farmer. He loved to farm and he loved his animals, especially his dogs, Bonnie and Katie. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband and father who adored his two grandchildren. Mr. Dunlap is survived by his wife, Carolyn L. Dunlap, of the home; daughter, Jeanette Allred and husband, William, of Asheboro; sisters, Barbara Maness and husband, Haywood, of Robbins, Dorothy Mae and husband, Jimmy, of Spencer, Clara Dunlap, of Rockingham, Kathleen Odom and husband, Dempsey, of Carolina Beach; brother, David Dunlap, of Robbins; grandchildren, Daniel Allred and Leanna Allred, both of Asheboro; and best walking buddy, John Dixon. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:30 pm Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home, and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Randolph County, P.O. Box 4384, Asheboro, NC 27204.
