Joseph Donald Copple

Mr. Joseph Donald Copple, 80, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, February 24, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, February 28, 2014, at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Copple was born April 23, 1933. He was the son of the late Robert Pegram Copple and Bertha Flossie Thompson Copple. He was a graduate of Farmer High School and earned an Associate Degree from GTCC in Engineering Technology. He was retired from Acme-McCrary and was active in helping with charitable events. He was a UNC basketball fan and enjoyed his vegetable garden. In addition to his parents, Mr. Copple was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Copple and his sister, Hazel Copple Richardson. Mr. Copple is survived by his wife, Betty Spencer Copple, of the home; son, Donald Pegram Copple, of the home; sister, Dorothy Shoe, of Asheboro, NC; brother, Charles Copple and wife, Lib, of Asheboro, NC; sister-in-law, Bonita Campbell, of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bonita Campbell, 1725 Mt. View Church Road, Asheboro.
