John Delbert Voncannon, Jr.,79, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday November 8, 2021, at Center Cross Baptist Church Cemetery, Asheboro, with Charles Reeder officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Johnny was born on November 9, 1941, in Randolph County to John Delbert Voncannon and Frances Lambe Voncannon. Johnny was Vice President and a driver for Voncannon Trucking. He was a school bus driver for Asheboro High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Samuel David Voncannon, Benny Voncannon; sister Julia Alese Voncannon; and niece, April Lucas. Johnny is survived by his wife, Nancy Voncannon, nieces and nephews, Benny D. Voncannon Jr. (Karen), Edward "Eddie" Voncannon (Renee), Brian Lucas, James Marshall, Tammy Hill, Donna Louldry, Joe Lee Marshall, Ricky Seabolt, Tonya Todd, Kenny Seabolt, Brenda Grasjo, Bobby Lucas, Darren Lucas, Priscilla Scales, Allie Collinson, Bonnie Bumgarner, Tina Loflin, Donna Jordan, James Dale Lucas, Kelia Lucas, and Seretha Yow. Memorials may be made to Center Cross Baptist Church, 1789 Center Cross Church Road, Asheboro NC 27205 or to the Randolph County Honor Guard, P.O. Box 1672 Asheboro NC, 27204.
