John "Buck" Trotter

Mr. John Austin "Buck" Trotter, 82, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Bethel Baptist Church with his grandson, the Rev. Brian Cole, the Rev. Jody Harrison and the Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Trotter was born May 14, 1927, the son of the late Troy and Bernice McDowell Trotter. He was baptist and was retired from FCX / Southern States. He had served in the US Army during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Trotter was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Hunt (Dink or Faye) Trotter, his sister, Alice Cabe, and his brothers, Tillman Trotter and James Trotter. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Cole and husband, Harold, Vonna "Red" Olson and husband, Freddie, Donna Key and husband, James, all of Asheboro, Judy Cook and husband, Doug, of Denton, Janet Beasley and husband, Ronald, of Sophia; sons, Larry Trotter and wife, Jan, of Asheboro, Ricky Trotter and wife, Carla, all of Asheboro; sister, Evelyn Bunting, of Asheboro; brothers, Charles Trotter and wife, Hannalore, of Opelika, AL, Joseph Trotter and wife, Jessie, of Welcome, NC; grandchildren, Craig, Tonya, Brian, Sandra, Christy, Steven, Mitchell, Jamie, Kevin, Justin; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Heather; great grandchildren, Kenzi, Kaden, Gauge, Gunnar, Taylor, Kaili, Spencer, Lance, Andrew, Owen, Riley, Gavin; and sister-in-law, Rona Trotter, of Asheboro. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:30 until 8:30 pm on Friday, February 19, 2010. and other times at the home.
