John Edward Pugh

John Edward Pugh, 65, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Nathan Rice officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date at New Hope Memorial Gardens. Born January 7, 1954, in Randolph County, Mr. Pugh was the son of the late Robert and Maggie Richardson Pugh. He worked in logging and enjoyed going to casinos, spending time with his family and traveling. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pugh was preceded in death by his brothers, Bickett Pugh, Pete Pugh, Don Pugh and Sam Pugh. Survivors include his sisters, Patricia Blankenship, Dianne Pugh Hill, Joanne Brooks and husband Mickey, all of Asheboro; brothers, Larry Pugh and wife Patricia of High Falls, NC, Joe Pugh of Asheboro, Chris Pugh and wife Joann of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service, and other times at the home of Jimmy and Kim Brooks at 128 Spanish Lane, Asheboro.
