John Wesley Minto

John Wesley Minto, 60, of Asheboro, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2016, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating. John had many interests and enjoyed time in the mountains as well as vacations with his family on Dauphin Island, Alabama. He was an avid student of history, gameboard fanatic, rabid LSU fan and upland bird hunter. Most all he was a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend to everyone who came in contact with him. He was preceded in death by his father, James Gordon Minto. He is survived by his wife, Judy Minto, the love of his life; sons, Sean Christian Minto of Mobile, AL, Christopher Patrick Minto, Sr. of Greensboro, Ryan James Minto and wife, Betsy of Wake Forest; mother, Myrtle Brock Minto of Mobile, AL; sisters, Marianne Minto Gabb of New Orleans, LA, Nancy Leigh Minto of Steubenville, OH; brothers, James Gordon Minto, Jr. and wife, Susan of Killeen, TX, Andrew Leroy Minto and wife, Pam of Steubenville, OH, Joseph Dean Minto and wife, Julie of Mobile, AL, grandchildren, Sydney Corinne Baker, Christopher Patrick "C.J." Minto, John Wesley Minto, II, Charles Howard Minto, Catherine Elizabeth Minto; brothers-in-law, Tommy Pierce and wife, Janie of Level Cross, Johnny Hughes of Asheboro; and sister-in-law, Rhonda Saunders, of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
