John B. Mcarthur

John Bernard McArthur, 88, of Randleman, died Friday, October 6, 2017 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2017 at Level Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born on August 23, 1929 in Harnett County, NC, Mr. McArthur was the son of the late Alton Norman McArthur and Vera McNeill McArthur. He retired from Overnight Transportation after 35 years of service He was an ordained minister and also operated J. & T. Lawn Mower Repair. Mr. McArthur was a member of Level Cross Baptist Church and sang in the Level Cross Quartet. He enjoyed fishing with his family and friends at the Outer Banks, gardening and cooking. In addition to his parents, Mr. McArthur was preceded in death by his sons, Gary McArthur and Tony McArthur. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Earlene McArthur of the home; sons, Ronnie H. McArthur and wife, Cindy of Randleman, Danny McArthur and wife, Mel of Franklinville, Dennis McArthur and wife, Pat of Ashland, AL; daughter-in-law, Donna McArthur of Trinity; brothers, Sam McArthur, Rex McArthur, both of Broadway; grandchildren, Sharee McArthur, Paul McArthur, April Brim, Ronnie C. McArthur, Robin Emmons, Ashton McArthur; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Monday at Level Cross Baptist Church and other times at the home.
