John J.C. Luffman

Mr. John Columbus Luffman, 79, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday night, November 4, 2011, at the home of his granddaughter. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, November 7, 2011, at Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Independent Methodist Church. A native of Wilkes County, NC, Mr. Luffman was born July 16, 1932. He was the son of the late Arthur Luffman and Lillie Mae Luffman. He was a dedicated member of Christian Fellowship Church. J.C. was associated with the hosiery industry for over 60 years and most recently, the owner of Fine Line Hosiery. He was a hardworking man and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a trusted and loyal friend to many in the community. In addition to his parents, Mr. Luffman was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Luffman. Mr. Luffman is survived by his daughter, Lisa L. Elliott, and husband Michael, of Asheboro, NC; sons, Bryan D. Luffman, and wife Monica, Joel A. Luffman, and wife Angie, all of Asheboro, NC, sisters, Wilma Luffman, Betty Wyatt, both of Elkin, NC; brother, Glenn Luffman, of Dobson, NC, mother-in-law, Esther V. Ward, of Asheboro; sister-in-law, Betty Rich, of McLeansville, NC; brothers-in-law, Bill Anderson, Mitch Mitchell, both of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Joshua Luffman, Amber LaBarre, Amy Armfield, Tiffiny Luffman, Brandon Luffman, Adam Elliott, John Luffman, Kimberly Jarrell, Bradley Luffman; great grandchildren, Miranda Armfield, Ciara LaBarre, Andrea Luffman, Kierstin LaBarre, Mykala Luffman, Steven LaBarre, Mason Jarrell; special friend, Maxine Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at 1278 Cortez Road, Asheboro, NC.
