John Luck

John Lee Luck, 95, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patrick Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Russell's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born September 26, 1920 in Randolph County, Mr. Luck was the son of the late Henry and Pearlie Luck. He loved working in his garden and yard. He also enjouyed spending time with his grandchildren and riding them on his tractor when they were young. His main priority was putting his family first in all aspects of life. He was a longtime fireman for the Ulah Volunteer Fire Department and named Fireman of the Year in 1976. Mr. Luck served in the U.S. Army, 31st Infantry, during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Luck was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Burgess Luck. He is survived by his son, Neal Luck and wife, Susan of Greensboro; grandchildren, Lauren Newton and husband, Jacob of Randleman, Stephen Luck and Rachael Luck, both of Greensboro.
