John Herbert

Sidney John Collett Herbert, IV, 72, of Asheboro, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Bishop Daryl Alexander officiating. Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born on February 4, 1947, in Cuyahoga Co., OH, to the late Sidney John Collett Herbert III and Diane Louise Cassell Hall, John served in the U.S. Navy in a unit attached to the Marine Corp during Vietnam. He later retired from the Federal Government. Mr. Herbert loved riding motorcycles, collecting and shooting guns, collecting knives, and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Herbert of the home; daughters, Theresa Herbert of Norwalk, CA, Jaimie Watson of Asheboro, Stacy Herbert of Norwalk, CA, Kristi Herbert of Asheboro, Stephanie Millikan of Asheboro; son, Jeremy Watson of Santa Paula, CA; sister, Diana Herbert of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Miranda, Taylor, Jimmy, Michael, Gilbert, Jaden, Skyler, Hayden, and Ethan. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
