Rev. John Burton Beane, Sr., 76, of 5651 Old NC Hwy 13, Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 , at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Panther Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Kidd and the Rev. Gene Booker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, Rev. Beane was born July 23, 1933, the son of the late Ernest and Eva Burrow Beane. He was retired from Asheboro Hosiery and was the pastor of Panther Creek Baptist Church for 45 years. He loved his church and his church family. He was a former member of the Seagrove Civitans and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Rev. Beane had served in the US Army. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Cora Hurley Beane, of the home; daughters, Patricia Ann Rhyne and husband, John, Eva Buelin and husband, Mike, all of Salisbury, Amanda Hancock and husband, Tommy, Debbie Moffitt and husband, Tim, all of Asheboro; sons, John Burton Beane, Jr., Ronald Beane, both of Asheboro; brother, Newman Beane, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Tammy Ludwick and husband, Thomas, Jody Moon, Treva McBride and husband, Shane, all of Salisbury, Stephanie Smedley and husband, Robert, of Indian Trail, Kasey Moffitt, Lindsay Moffitt, both of Asheboro, Madison Beane, of Level Cross; great grandchildren, Austin Ludwick, Trevor Ludwick, Natalie McBride, Jayden Moon, Malachi McBride, Bobby Smedley and Lauren Smedley. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Panther Creek Baptist Church, 5651 Old NC Hwy 13, Asheboro, NC 27205.
