Joseph Othell "Joe" Shaw, 75, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Randolph Health in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at New Hope United Methodist Church, Denton, where he was a member. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Conley and Rev. Joe Johnson. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Shaw was born March 16, 1941, the son of the late Thomas and Odessa Yates Shaw. He retired as the owner of Shaw Bail Bonds for over 30 years. Mr. Shaw had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, San Juanita "Janie" Shaw, of the home; mother-in-law, Yolanda Vecchio, of Asheboro; sister-in-law, Hilda Woodall; and niece and nephew, Logan Woodall and Daniel Woodall. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 7163 New Hope Road, Denton, NC 27239.
