Joe Ben Lane

Mr. Joe Ben Lane, 77, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Randolph Memorial Park with Charles T. Reeder officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Lane was born August 1, 1934. He was the son of the late James Alexander Lane and Mamie Drum Lane. He was retired from the NC Department of Transportation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Avalee Lane and son, Allen Lane. Mr. Lane is survived by his daughter, Debbie Lane, of Asheboro, NC, brother, Perry Lane, of Sumter, SC; one grandchild, and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
