Jimmy Voncannon, Sr.

Jimmy Bryant Voncannon, Sr. 81, of Seagrove, died Saturday, December 27, 2025, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Pastor Ed Carter officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens, Asheboro.

Born in Asheboro, NC on July 17, 1944, Jimmy was the son on the late Treece and Nina Beane Voncannon. He attended Seagrove School. Jimmy worked at Bud Wright Sawmill and retired from Luck's Inc. After retirement he went back to work at Randolph Community College, before retiring once again. He enjoyed farming, traveling to Carolina Beach with his family and riding his side by side.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Voncannon, Carmen Voncannon, Bobby Voncannon, and Jerry Voncannon.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Geneva Boone Voncannon; sons, Bryant Voncannon of Seagrove, Charles Voncannon of Denton; sisters, Linda Voncannon of Miami, FL, Susie Voncannon of Charlotte; and grandson, Sam Voncannon of Denton.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
