Jim Trotter

Mr. James Irvin "Jim" Trotter, 58, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Friday, July 29, 2011, at Oaklawn Cemetery with Dr. John Rogers officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Trotter was born May 31, 1953. Mr. Trotter had attended UNC-Greensboro and was employed with Kellogg's. He was a lifelong NASCAR fan and member of the Winner's Circle at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. He was an avid Harley Rider, member of the Asheboro Hog Chapter and helped with their Annual Toy Run. He was a UNC fan and coached Asheboro Parks & Rec Basketball. Mr. Trotter was preceded in death by his father, James Lee Trotter. Mr. Trotter is survived by his wife, Karen Caviness, of the home; sons, Alex Trotter, of Greensboro, NC, Brad Trotter, and wife, Micki, of Twining, MI; mother, Margaret Butler and husband, James, of Bolivia, NC; sister, Patricia Trotter, of Long Beach, NC; grandchildren, Kassidy Trotter, Weston Trotter, Grayson Trotter, and Brenna Banker. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
