Jewel Scott Copple

Mrs. Emma Jewel Scott Copple, 90, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church with Elder David Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Copple was born September 6, 1923. She was the daughter of the late John Milton Scott and Emma Reba Richardson Scott. She graduated from Seagrove High School, worked at Acme-McCrary and was a homemaker. Mrs. Copple was a faithful, lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved keeping her grandchildren. She was loved and was kind to her church family and members of the community. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Copple was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Copple; granddaughter, Jillian Nicole Copple; sisters, Hazel Auman, Canary Kearns, Pauline Woodell; and brothers, Walter Scott and Grady Scott. Mrs. Copple is survived by daughter, Judy Cole and husband, Barry, of Asheboro; sons, Dave Copple, of Eden Prairie, MN, Allen Copple and wife, Kay, of Asheboro; brother, Lacy Scott, of Asheboro; grandchildren; Mike Cole and wife, Stacy, Scott Cole and wife, Michelle, Lauren Copple, Alex Copple, Jenny Webster and husband, Chris, Doug Copple and wife, Amber, Anthony Copple and wife, Casie; great grandchildren, Trevor Cole, Elana Cole, Dalton Cole, Carter Cole, Aiden Cole, Dylan Webster, Peyton Webster, Dane Webster, Anna Copple, Jacob Copple, Ava Copple, Ansley Copple; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Judy and Barry Cole.
