Jesse Rufus Pugh

Jesse Rufus Pugh, 91, of Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro. Officiating will be Mr. Charles Reeder. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mr. Pugh was born August 22, 1924, the son of the late Jess and Erie Pugh. He retired from Burlington Industries after 40 years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pugh was preceded in death by his son, Larry Marcus Pugh, brothers, Howard Pugh, Richard Pugh, Herbert Pugh, and sister, Marie Bunkemyer. Survivors include his wife, Doris Welch Pugh, of the home; sons, Jerry Pugh, Maurice Pugh and wife, Evonne, Mark Pugh, Terry Pugh, all of Asheboro; sisters, Louise Reeder and husband, James, of Randleman, Dorothy Brown and husband, Clyde, of Bennett, Emma Jean Lineberry of Randleman; grandchildren, Tonia, Jolene, Karen; great-grandchildren, Bethany, Gabrielle, Brianna, and Bailey. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home.
