Jerry Baxter Robbins

Jerry Baxter Robbins, 90, of Asheboro, died Thursday, October 10, 2019 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Charles Moses officiating. Burial will follow at West Bend United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born on August 28, 1929, in Randolph Co., Jerry was the son to the late Solon Britt Robbins and Effie Croker Robbins. He was a self employed painter and was a "clock doc". Jerry enjoyed working on and collecting antique clocks, working in his yard and his garden spot. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his stepmother, Beatrice Robbins; siblings, "Sister" Mildred Sowers, Lila Mayberry, Edward Robbins, Vivian R. Bryant, and Britt Robbins. Surviving are his wife, Hilda Robbins of the home; sons, Eddie Robbins of Miami, FL, Dennis Robbins and wife Cathy of Asheboro, Tommy Robbins and wife Lisa of Asheboro; sister, Joyce R. Fields and husband Gary; brothers, Steve Robbins and wife Sandra, Mike Robbins; grandchildren, McKenna Robbins, Justin Payne, Corey Payne Greene, Solon Robbins, Dakota Robbins; great grandchildren, Lileigh Payne, Brookelynn Payne, Lani Payne, Luke Shelton, Jordin Needham, Camden Needham. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019, and other times at the home of Tommy and Lisa Robbins.
