Jerry Hunt

Jerry Ronald "Asheboro" Hunt, 76, of Asheboro, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Johnny Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Hunt was born June 25, 1942. He was the youngest of 13 children and the 10th son of the late William Everette and Claudia Trotter Hunt. "Asheboro" was retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after 42 1/2 years of service and loved his work. Mr. Hunt was a good, Christian man who loved his family and was a wonderful husband and provider. He loved the beach, sports, and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jennie Harris Hunt, of the home; daughter, Jill Miller, of Randleman; sons, Greg Hunt, Sr., and wife, Kim, of Asheboro, Jeff Hunt, of High Point; sisters, Emma Thomas, of Asheboro, Mary Anne Greene and husband, Lee, of Seagrove; brothers, W.E. Hunt, Jr., and wife, Paulette, Harland Hunt and wife, Illa, all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke, special grandchildren, Greg, Jr., and Madison; and great grandchild, Kainan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
